About
What is FSC®?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. Since its foundation in 1994, FSC has grown to become the world’s most respected and widespread forest certification system.
FSC's pioneering certification system, which now covers more than 200 million hectares of forest, enables businesses and consumers to choose wood, paper and other forest products made with materials that support responsible forestry.
Sustainability in forestry is achieved through weighted decision-making that considers economic, social, and ecological aspects of development. We only sell hardwoods from sustainable plantations.
While the protection of workers’ rights has always been part of FSC’s principles and mandatory for forest management certificate holders, the new FSC Core Labor Requirements have now also been included in the FSC Chain of Custody standard (FSC-STD-40-004-v3-1).
One goal of the FSC Core Labor Requirements is to level the playing field for companies across the FSC system. While the United States has a strong set of labor protections, many countries do not. The new standard will raise the bar for companies in countries without strong protections. This change, which was supported by the FSC Membership, is an important part of sustainable development.
Carbon Credits
Teak is a species that can sequester high amounts of C02, among the highest sequestration of C02 in tree species.
We work with LATAM’s first GOLD STANDARD certified plantations; managing sustainably.
Gold Standard is a standard and logo certification mark program for non-governmental emission reductions projects in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), the Voluntary Carbon Market and other climate and development interventions.
Being Certified by Gold Standard brings huge benefits, this gives you acces to your sequestered carbon by offering them on Carbon Credit Markets.
